Easter Egg Designs: Banded Eggs

Banded Eggs
To create banded eggs, randomly wrap the egg in rubber bands, then dip it in two different colors (in this photo blue and red), removing a few bands with each new color. In the photo above, a plain white egg was dipped in color to result in red, white and blue bands.
Consider using contemporary colors for these eggs in unusual ways. For example, dye in a dark red/orange to create a brown color and enhance with blues and yellows.
Getting the bands to stay on the egg is a bit tricky, but it's not impossible if you're careful. Don't try to get the bands too tight as this causes them to simply roll off. This photo shows the egg above, before it was dyed.
