Amish Bread Pudding

Amish Bread Pudding

Ingredients
12 day-old rolls or bread
2 cups sugar
1 Tbsp vanilla
5 cups milk
1-2/3 cups easy eggs

Method
Cut up rolls or bread and place in pan (you will need enough bread to fill a 9 x 13" pan). Heat milk and remove from heat. Add remaining ingredients to milk and pour over bread. Sprinkle with cinnamon or nutmeg and bake at 350 degrees F until set and browned. Serve hot with Lemon Sauce.
 
Lemon Sauce: Heat 1/4 cup lemon juice, 1/2 cup sugar, 1 qt hot water, pinch of salt, and a few drops of yellow food coloring. Cook until thickened. Sugar to taste.
