Beef Stew

Ingredients
23 lbs, 4 oz boneless beef (1 inch cubes)
1 cup vegetable oil
4 oz dehydrated onions
1 lb, 8 oz flour, all-purpose
3 Tbsp garlic powder
2 Tbsp paprika
1 Tbsp black pepper
2 tsp thyme, flaked
3 gals water or beef stock
5 lb, 5 oz canned sliced carrots, drained
6 lb, 12 oz canned small whole potatoes, drained
6 lb, 8 oz canned green peas, drained

Method
Trim all visible fat from beef cubes. Brown beef cubes in oil. Drain. Add onions, flour, garlic powder, paprika, pepper and thyme. Add water or stock. Bring to boil. Reduce heat and cover.  Simmer for approximately 1-1/2 hour, or until meat is tender. Add carrots, potatoes and peas. Cook until vegetables are heated through, approximately 15 minutes. Pour into serving pans. Portion with 8-oz ladle (1 cup).
