Chocolate Satin Pound Cake

Chocolate Satin Pound Cake
A velvet cake made rich and smooth with the addition of sour cream. Serve with a sprinkling of powdered sugar and a dash of strawberry sauce on the side.

Serves: 48, 1-inch slices

Ingredients

5 lb (full box) Krusteaz Devil's Food Cake Mix
4 oz (1 cup) powdered sugar
4 oz (1 cup) all-purpose flour
16 oz (2 cups) butter or margarine, softened
32 oz (4 cups) sour cream
8 fl oz (1 cup) water

Method

Place Krusteaz Devil's Food Cake Mix, sugar, flour, butter or margarine and sour cream in mixer bowl. Using a paddle, mix on low speed 30 seconds or until well blended.

Continue to mix on low speed while gradually adding water. Scrape bowl. Change to medium speed and mix 2 minutes.

Divide batter equally into six, prepared 8½x4½x2½-inch loaf pans (about 24 oz batter each pan).

 

For standard oven, bake at 350° F 50-55 minutes; for convection oven, bake at 300° F 45-50 minutes.
