Method
In a small bowl, combine sugar, flour, cinnamon and salt. Sprinkle half of the mixture in the bottom of the pie shell. Add the apple slices; sprinkle raisins over and top with remaining sugar mixture. Pour cream over all. Bake at 450 degrees F for 15 minutes. Reduce temperature to 350 degrees F and bake 45 minutes.
Note: Be sure to use firm, tart pie apples.
