Lemon and Basil Pork Chops

Lemon and Basil Pork Chops

Ingredients

4 pork loin chops, boneless, 1-1/4 inch thick
1/2 cup Italian style bread crumbs
1 Tbsp margarine or butter, melted
1 tsp lemon peel, grated
1 tsp basil leaves, dried
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 tsp lemon juice

Method

Heat oven to 375° F. Grease 15x10x1-inch baking pan. Combine bread crumbs, margarine, lemon peel and basil. In small bowl, combine egg and lemon juice. Brush chops with egg, then dip in crumb mixture to coat top and sides. Bake at 375° F. for 30 to 40 minutes or until meat thermometer reaches 160° F, turning once halfway through baking.

Optional—heat ½ cup Marinara sauce and serve over chops.
