Method
To make the marinade, combine the garlic, lemon juice, thyme, and 4 cups of the Italian dressing. Hold refrigerated.
Marinate the flank steak in 4 cups of the marinade for 30-45 minutes. Drain, grill, slice and refrigerate.
For each serving, toss 1-1/2 cups of the mixed greens with 2 Tbsp of the Italian dressing and arrange in a large salad bowl. Top with 4 slices of portobello mushroom and approximately 3 oz sliced flank steak. Garnish with 1/4 cup croutons and 2 Tbsp red pepper.
Yields: 12 servings.
