Method
Sprinkle buttered side of each slice of toast with parmesan cheese and flash under broiler. Reduce wine to approximately 3 cups.
Combine A.1. with half & half, and stir into reduced wine; simmer until thickened; set aside and keep warm.
For each sandwich, grill a 5 oz piece of steak to desired doneness and grill 3 oz of mushrooms. Slice steak and mushrooms and place on cheese side of the bread. Cover the steak with 4 oz of warm red wine sauce and sprinkle with chopped parsley.
Serving Suggestion: Serve with a red onion and tomato salad. Average food cost per serving: 2.60.
