Sausage and Canadian Bacon Pizza

Sausage and Canadian Bacon Pizza
Toppings add value to all menu items, especially pizza. Try this spicy delight as a seasonal special.

Ingredients
1/2 lb spicy sausage
1/3 cup seeded & chopped green bell pepper
3/4 cup chopped onion
1 minced garlic clove
1 (12") pizza crust
1-1/2 cups pizza sauce
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
6 oz Canadian bacon
8 fresh sliced mushrooms
1 seeded green bell pepper, sliced into rings
1/4 cup chopped red bell pepper

Method
Preheat oven to 450 degrees F. Heat a heavy non-stick skillet over medium high heat. Sauté sausage and next 3 ingredients 8-10 minutes, until meat is browned, stirring to crumble. Drain well on paper towels.
 
Spread sauce over pizza crust, leaving a 1/2" border around edges. Combine cheeses in a bowl.  Sprinkle 1/2 of cheese over pizza sauce. Spoon 1/2 of sausage mixture onto pizza.
 
Layer Canadian bacon, mushroom slices and green pepper rings on top. Sprinkle with remaining sausage and chopped red pepper. Bake 10 minutes. Top with the remaining shredded cheese and bake another 10 minutes.
 
This recipe serves 4 people. Because this recipe is for a particular size pan, adjust the number of servings only in multiples of 4.
