Savory Strawberry Dips

Savory Strawberry Dips
This is a perfect item for catering and banquet menus. Display as is or add shrimp, vegetables, and crackers.

Serves: Yields: 9 cups

Ingredients
3 cups whipping cream
3 cups sour cream

Method
Beat whipping cream stiff. Fold in sour cream. This is the Savory Base for all other recipes. 
 
For variations add the following:
  • Blue Cheese Dip
    Add 3/4 cup crumbled blue cheese to 3 cups of the Savory Base.

  • Mustard Dip
    Add 3 Tbsp Dijon Mustard and 3/4 tsp thyme to 3 cups of the Savory Base.

  • Herb Dip
    Add 1/4 tsp grated lemon peel and 1/2 tsp of dill weed to 3 cups of the Savory Base.
To serve: Arrange 24 Romaine lettuce leaves on a serving platter. Place 3 small bowls with 1 cup of each dip. Arrange 6 qts of strawberries around each dip.
 
For single servings, spoon 2 Tbsp of each dip into 3 serving bowls on plate.
