At Food Services of America, our food safety policies and procedures are in place to ensure that we provide safe and wholesome products to all of our customers.
Food Services of America conducts an ongoing system-wide quality assurance program that provides inspection of, and care for, the integrity of the food products that we distribute on behalf of our vendors and suppliers.
We also work very closely with state and local departments of health in engaging immediate product recall procedures.
We hope you'll take advantage of our ServSafe certification courses and our food safety related articles found throughout fsafood.com.
Food Services of America knows the importance of delivering recall information in a timely manner, and that's why we established an efficient process to notify those customers affected. Whether it's a small product hold or system wide recall, we take every notification seriously.
Food Services of America will respond to a market withdrawal, product hold and/or product recall based upon the information provided by the FDA, USDA and or the manufacturer of the item.
• Our branch specific HACCP Food Safety Coordinator’s will check the code or codes in question against the product in the warehouse and storage, and isolate product if found.
• Customer call lists will be generated for the customers who bought the product involved in the recall.
• Customers will be contacted if they purchased the recalled product by an automated recall system or directly by a customer service associate with a 2-4 hour target time frame after Food Services of America is notified.
Employee Training Program
A complete year long program with Monthly Instructor and Employee Handbooks to educate employees on foodservice topics related to healthcare operations. Ask your Sales Associate for a sample of the complete program guide.
Food Services of America prides itself in maintaining the integrity of the food products placed in our control by our vendors and suppliers. While we operate a case in/case out service, and do not produce or package any of the products we handle, we protect those products in our care by consistently surpassing the most stringent food safety standards as required by the USDA and FDA in our daily operations.
Both of FSA Seattle’s distribution centers have been recognized as Food Alliance Certified Handlers, our second and third locations to receive this significant industry designation.
Seattle follows FSA Portland, the first of our distribution facilities passing a third-party audit by Food Alliance, a national nonprofit offering the most comprehensive certification in North America for sustainable agricultural and food handling practices.
