Food Services of America has been named the winner of the 2010 Excellence in Distribution Award from the International Foodservice Manufacturers Association (IFMA). FSA was presented the award at IFMA's fourth annual Distributor Awards Nov. 9 during the IFMA/IFDA Presidents Conference at the Renaissance Esmeralda Resort and Spa in Indian Wells, Calif. IFMA bestows the annual awards to "acknowledge distributor leadership and overall excellence within the foodservice industry." The trade association recognizes a corporate or independent distribution organization each year that demonstrates excellence in the categories of management and leadership, customer relations, supplier relations and industry/community contributions. In presenting the award, it said, "FSA stands in the forefront through leading-edge technology, strong core leadership and uncommon commitment to customers and employees." Accepting the award for the company was Doug Minert, President & CEO. "This is an honor to accept such an important award from such a respected organization," he said. "It’s really a tribute to our late founder and chairman Thomas J. Stewart who had the vision and the drive to create a world-class company and to all of our Associates who execute our customer service culture daily."
